Orangebox Company Origins

Orangebox company origins lie in the Giroflex brand, a producer of quality office furniture in Switzerland. The British company bearing the Giroflex name was formed in the UK in 1972 and the company’s first factory opened in 1974. The company was acquired by Steelcase Strafor in 1989. The UK company that manufactures and distributes Giroflex under license in the UK underwent a management buyout from the US giant Steelcase in 1998 and Orangebox was born.

The Orangebox factory is accredited to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. All Orangebox product is designed to conform to: BS 5459 Level ‘S’, BS EN ISO 9241 Ergonomics and BS EN 1335 Dimensional.
