W2W and our partner Lifestyle recently ran a Play-Doh competition. Play-Doh a totally re-useable product reflects the sustainability of the complete Lifestyle product range. We invited Architects and Designers to MAKE A STRUCTURE FROM PLAY-DOH.

The judging was by Architecture Ireland Editor Dr Sandra O’Connell, who was stunned by the amount of entries and the high level of skill and innovation. “The competition not only injected a bit of (necessary) fun into architecture during these challenging times for the profession”, said Sandra, “they also demonstrate the great skill and talent in Irish architectural practices. The entrants have taken play-doh to a new level”.

L-R; Mary Ryan, Liliana Krzycka, Rafau Pieszko, Elena Manfredi, Stuart Ramsden, Dr Sandra O’Connell, Brian Carey & Celine O’Brien at RIAI Council Offices for Play-Doh Presentation.

Winner: WALL-E by Przemyslaw Paul Glinka from A&D Wejchert for great detail of design, fun and for embodying the essence of WALL-E, who is all about sustainability and reusability.

2nd Place: Natural Light by Brian Carey from Keogan Architects for addressing sustainability in a fun and creative way with a clever design

3rd Place: Recession by Rafau Pieszko & Liliana Krzycka from McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects for reflecting the challenging times but with a bit of fun and a smile on the face

This was an open brief and the amount of submissions was fantastic. More than anything, this competition put the fun back into creativity. Please click on the thumbnails below to view all the entries
