Furniture & Partitions
Fidelity Investments had a focus for this project on encouraging collaboration among teams, to facilitate this, architects MCA included numerous small meeting rooms and breakout spaces. As a result office acoustics were an important consideration, both in terms of minimising disturbance to other staff and achieving speech privacy for private meetings.
W2W installed Optima’s Rev100 system of double-glazed partitions with a 48db acoustic rating. These were fitted with Optima Edge Symmetry double-glazed doors which were specially adapted on-site to accommodate wiring for a room-booking system. Frames were supplied in a custom RAL colour as specified by the client. In total W2W installed 155m of partitions and 66 doors.
With employee well-being an important factor for the client, W2W supplied Knoll Tone height adjustable workstations throughout the project. These allow users to alternate between a sitting and standing posture at regular intervals during the day and minimise the harmful effects of a sedentary lifestyle.
A variety of different styles of furniture were used to provide multiple options for collaboration spaces. Users can choose between variations on a standard height meeting set-up or work at a high bench or media unit with stools. Numerous other flexible seating options are located throughout the office. The loose furniture supplied to FIL came from multiple manufacturers including Knoll, Wilkhahn, Bralco, Arper, Buzzi Space, Hitch Mylius, James Burleigh and Abstracta.
